They employ 8,000 staff, some of whom are award winning and internationally renowned for their work and achievements, and treat over 700,000 patients a year - from the most serious of emergencies to planned operations and procedures. Their high quality healthcare services are offered across five hospital sites and various community sites. East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is a well-renowned teaching hospital, and apprentices play a big part in the development and growth of their teaching schools. Over the years, the ELHT school has built a strong relationship with Preston College and hire pharmacy technicians to support the future growth of their hospital. Many new and exciting roles have been made available for pharmacy technicians, not only in hospitals and community pharmacies, but also in prisons, primary care environments, GP surgeries and community mental health teams. For ELHT, their aim is to continue to promote and hire school/college learners who are looking to start a career in pharmacy and appoint as many apprentices as they can.
