| 21 throughout. While this has delayed their apprenticeship completion, this is a great demonstration of the approach the college and company have taken together to ensure both business and learner can still achieve. John Turner Construction Ltd: John Turner’s are a local company with skills and training at the heart of everything they do. They are passionate about education and have many staff in senior positions who started out in apprenticeships roles. John Turner’s take on apprentices across a number of different area’s each year and provide valuable support and mentorship to learners so they can progress in their chosen career. Taylor Wimpey Plc: The Taylor Wimpey Group have provided support to the delivery of education and training and apprenticeships for number of years to Preston’s College. Taylor Wimpey have provided industry placements, apprenticeship and also social value activity in terms of recycling materials for our construction learners, ensuring the local community can benefit from the construction projects and activity. They have a shared passion and vision for developing communities and young people, enabling social mobility and the key development of construction skills. P. Curley Construction: They have been sending apprentices for the last 5/6 years. Sending between 1 & 3 apprentices each year. They have always allowed them to progress through the qualification from level 2 to level 3 and progress to HE. Two previous apprentices are now site managers within the company. They supported us when we attended/competed in competitions, allowing their apprentice to attend regional and national bricklaying competitions. Paddy Curley also attended these competitions in order to support his apprentice. They have a direct contact for WBT and College to discuss any matters/ issues and are always responsive. Additionally, they send other employees and managers to complete other HE courses at the college such as NEBOSH and Site Manager courses etc. They have grown massively as a company over the last few years, from working in Preston and the local area, to all over the UK. They work on large housing developments, schools, hospitals and places of worship. We have put them forward for awards in the past and their previous apprentices have also been put forward for the National Apprenticeship Awards. The growth of P. Curley over the last few years has been impressive, they have constantly sent apprentices supporting college schemes and also to larger companies sub out to P. Curley due to his reputation and work. A huge well done to all these worthy winners.
