Course Information

 

This programme provides an introduction to the health and social care and early years industries. Covering a wide range of units you will learn work related skills which are essential to gain employment.

  • Equality
  • Health & Safety
  • Child Development
  • Introduction to Disabilities
  • Personal Social Development
  • Healthy Eating Project

 

Functional Skills such as English and Maths will also be studied as part of the programme.

 

Assessment

 

During the programme you will build a portfolio of evidence which includes a range of assessment methods including reports, case studies, discussions, field trips and poster presentations.

 

Assessment for Functional Skills includes exams.

 

Progression

 

Successful completion of the programme can provide progression to an Intermediate Diploma (Level 2) in either Health & Social Care or Children’s Care, Learning and Development.

 

Alternatively you could seek employment in the industry as a healthcare assistant.
