Introduction
This Apprenticeship covers a wide range of job roles within Creative industry including Technical Theatre and Event Promotion. If you want a career in Arts and Media then this Apprenticeship is for you. The Creative Apprenticeships offers a combination of qualifications, that will equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to work in the industry, which include six possible pathways;
- Live Events & Promotions
- Music Business
- Community Arts
- Cultural & Heritage Venue Operations
- Technical Theatre
- Technical Theatre (Costume & Wardrobe)
Programme Levels:
Apprenticeship – Level 2
Advanced Apprenticeship – Level 3
You will also undertake Key Skills and a Technical Certificate in Cultural & Creative Practices alongside the National Award, whilst attending college on a day release basis.

Advanced Apprenticeship in Creative and Cultural – 12-15 months
Course Content
- In Live Events & Promotion, you would learn how to plan, promote and execute live events – this gives you the chance to be creative while testing your organisational skills and in the Technical Theatre route you might install and operate sound and lighting equipment or provide stage and production assistance.
- The Music Marketing pathway could see you working for a record label maintaining contracts, planning budgets, supporting marketing campaigns or working with A&R to find new acts.
- If you chose Community Arts Administration, you might work on projects to encourage participation in artistic activities to help improve people’s quality of life. The role is artistic and creative, but involves managerial elements.
- Cultural and Heritage Venue Operations could see you working in a local museum or theatre – you might provide customer service, organise events and exhibitions, or help maintain health and safety.
- In the Technical Theatre pathway, you might install and operate sound and lighting equipment; as a Costume & Wardrobe apprentice, you could be responsible for producing and organising performers’ costumes.
Assessment
You will be assessed in one or more of the following ways:
- Course Work
- Exams
- Oral Questioning
- Portfolio of Evidence
- Practical Demonstration/Assignment
- Practical Examination
- Written Examination
Careers Progression
The Level Two Apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to progress on to the Level Three Advanced Apprenticeship. On successful completion of the Apprenticeship the natural progression would be a higher level course of employment, giving you a broader range and quality of skills and understanding of the industry.
