The Learning Tree Nursery

The Learning Tree at Preston College offers a wide range of childcare provision for children aged 0 to 11 years. Our specialist rooms are bright and stimulating with access to their own outdoor play area. The nursery is equipped with educational play materials for both indoors and out, to encourage learning and imagination. All rooms are set up with age appropriate play activities/areas.
Little Miss Tiny Room
Offers care for 12 children under 18 months old. The ratio of staff to children is 1:2 or 1:3, depending upon the ages of the children. This room has comfortable sleep facilities.
Mr Daydream Room
Offers care for 12 children aged 18-24 months old, and four children aged 24-27 months old. The ratio of staff to children is 1:3 and 1:4 depending upon the ages of the children. This room has comfortable sleep facilities.
Mr Strong Room
This is a large room which offers care for 26 children aged 24 months to 3 years. The ratio of staff to children is 1:4.
Little Miss Giggles Room
This is a smaller room which hosts 16 children who are just 3 years old. The staff to child ratio is 1:8.
Mr Clever Room
This room is for 26 pre-school children (aged 3-4 years). The ratio of staff to children is 1:8
Out of School Care
Our Breakfast, After-School and Holiday Clubs provide warm, friendly and fun environments in which your child can relax with his/her friends.
We offer a wide range of activities including creative play, board games and information technology, together with a wide choice of books. Outdoor facilities include an adverture climbing frame (built on soft flooring), and a larger tarmac playground with field.
Our clubs are available to primary school aged children and are split into two categories (under 8's and over 8's).
Breakfast Club opens at 7.30am
Where you child can eat a healthy breakfast before travelling to school on our mini-bus, which leaves the Learning Tree at approximately 8.30am.
After-School Club closes at 6pm
Starts when staff collect your child from his/her school and travel to the Learning Tree with them on the mini-bus. All children are offered a nutrious snack before play commences. Activities are planned but your child can choose to play whatever he/she likes.
Holiday Club opens at 8am, closes at 6pm
We provide an exciting and action packed week at the Holiday Club. Along with everyday fun activities such as creative play, IT, construction play and science, we organise dance classes, aerobics, talent shows, sports activities and tournaments with the use of the College sports centre. Children take part in baking and cooking activities and enjoy a little competitive sport in front of quizzes or question time, often challenging the staff! As if that isn't enough, we occassionally take the children on swimming, ten-pin bowling and cinema trips.
