37 GCSE points including Biology at grade B or above, or Additional Science at grade B or above: you will also need a grade B or above in Maths.

Your Course:

If you find biology, medical and environmental topics interesting and enjoy Science at high school, then A Level Biology is for you. The course is perfect for anyone who has a natural fascination about the world around us, the human body, causes of disease and advances in medicine. Areas you will study are:

• Biology and Disease
• Biochemistry and cells
• Populations and environment

Assessment for this course is through exams and practical work.

Your Enrichment

As well as the wide variety of sporting enrichment activities available to all students, there are opportunities for trips including a visit to a local brewery (when studying respiration) and Chester zoo studying taxonomy.

Your Future

A Level Biology is an essential component in many degree courses including Dentistry, Medicine, Pharmacy, Veterinary Science, Biochemistry and Forensic Science. It is also held in high regard as a traditional academic subject with transferable skills to support many degree courses such as Law, Geology and Environmental Science.
