An A Level in English will help to develop both your skills as a writer and your skills of analysis of written work. You will reflect on your own writing and that of others and discuss a variety of interesting literary texts. The course is ideal for those who wish to develop their literary skills and take part in discussions on writing. Areas you will study include:
Assessment for this course is through coursework and externally set exams.
As well as the wide variety of sporting enrichment activities available to all students, there are opportunities for trips – in previous years English students have visited cities across the country to view plays of texts that were being studied.
Many students go on to Higher Education to read English, Journalism, Law and Education. English, as an A Level, is acceptable on many degree courses.
