A Level Further Maths

Entry Requirements

 

37 GCSE points including Maths at grade A or above. Further maths is only available to students studying A Level maths.


Your Course:

 

The A Level in Further Maths is for those students with the desire to study maths at an advanced level and who find it interesting and enjoyable. Further maths builds on the topics studied in A Level Maths, looking in more detail at the topics involved. Modules you will study are:

 

  • Further Pure Maths 1
  • Statistics 1 & 2
  • Further Pure 2, 3 & 4

 

Assessment for this course is through externally set exams.

 

Your Enrichment

 

As well as the wide variety of sporting enrichment activities available to all students, there are opportunities for trips including the Making Maths at Manchester conference which able students are encouraged to attend.

 

Your Future

A0n00 1A0 Level in Further Maths offers the opportunity to progress to a wide range of degree courses; from Engineering and Chemistry to Sports Science. It also affords employment opportunities in areas such as maths, medicine, forensics, accountancy, engineering and physics. The course encourages students to think logically and to evaluate alternative ways of solving problems – these are qualities that universities and employers look for.
