Entry Requirements

 

37 GCSE points including a grade C in English.

 

Your Course:

 

If you have ever wondered ‘What God is like’ or ‘If God exists why does he allow tsunamis to happen or babies to be born with tumours?’ or even if you just enjoy arguing and debating, then this course is for you.

 

Topics include:

 

  • Plato & Aristotle(their influence on Christianity)
  • Does right and wrong come from God or is morality a product of society?
  • Is there evidence for the existence of God?
  • Creationism & the rise of fundamentalist Christianity
  • When does life begin/what does it mean to be a person?
  • Are human beings special?
  • Is there proof of life after death?
  • Science V Religion?

Assessment for this course is essay based exams.

As well as the wide variety of sporting enrichment activities available to all students, there are opportunities for trips including Philosophy of Religion and Ethics days at universities and a trip to the Jewish Museum in Manchester.
