Using The Telephone System

This guide gives you some brief guidelines on how to use the college telephone system.

Making Calls:


Dialling off the hook:
Internal: Lift the receiver and enter the extension number you want to call.
External: Lift the receiver and enter '9' followed by the phone number you want to call.

 

Dialling on the hook:
Internal: Select the 'New Call' function and enter the phone number you want to call.
External: Select the 'New Call' function and enter '9' followed by the phone number you want to call.

 

 

 

 

Telephone Call Forwarding

 

 

Using the Call Forwarding Option:


Redirect all calls:

Press the CFwdALL button. Enter the phone number where you want the incoming calls to ring. To cancel call forwarding, simply press the CFwdALL button

 

Redirect when busy & when no reply:

Please visit the support pages of the college website. These functions can't be configured from your handset at the moment.

Telephone Transfer Function

 

Transferring Calls:

Select the 'Trnsfer' function and enter the number of the phone you want to transfer to. Wait until the person answers and then press 'Trnsfer' function.

Placing Calls on Hold

Press the 'Hold' button to place the selected call on hold. Press 'Hold' again to release the call from hold.

 

 

Increasing the Ringtone Volume

With the handset on the hook, press the up-down keys. You will hear the volume go up and down.

Increasing/Decreasing the Speaker Volume

With the handset lifted off the hook, press the up-down keys whilst listening to the dial tone. Once you have got the correct volume, YOU MUST CLICK ON THE SAVE BUTTON, for your settings to be remembered in the future.

 

 

Viewing / Dialling from Call Logs

Press the Menu button. Select Directories > Missed Calls, Placed Calls, or Received Calls. A maximum of 10 records are stored in each of these logs.

 


Group Pickup (Answering ringing phone on another desk)

When another phone rings in the same group (all groups are the same as previously, new groups please use the Phone Enquiries form) lift your receiver, press More.

Then press PickUp. Your phone will now ring, press Answer.
