Within the Faculty of Business Enterprise and Employment there are two academies.

 

Business and Management Resources

 

Business Academy

Our Business Academy offers stimulating opportunities to learn about national and international business practice, with practical work-related courses. These courses open the door to diverse careers with many of our students progressing to Higher Education courses.

 

Did you know?

 

  • Three quarters of the nation’s top 100 companies are based in the North West
  • As part of the Academy’s enrichment programme a group of students entered the Lancaster University Social Enterprise Award Competition called Voltage and won!
  • Many of our students progress to university to study a variety of courses such as Law, Marketing, Accounting and Management.

 

Retail

 

Retail Academy

Retail Academy courses will ensure you gain the necessary skills for employment in managerial positions in this ever expanding industry. The Academy works in partnership with major retailers including Marks and Spencer, Booths and Debenhams and is involved with Preston City Centre projects including the Tithebarn retail development.

 

Did you know?

 

  • Preston College’s new “Eco” with copywrite shop was named by current students, who gain valuable experience in a real retail environment.
  • The Mall shopping centre in Preston was the first covered shopping mall in the UK.
  • Preston College has been named a founder member of the National Skills Academy for Retail, a Government backed network of training centres designed to increase productivity in the sector. It is the only centre of its kind in Lancashire.
