APPRENTICE SHEET METAL ENGINEER/WELDER

At Bonney Greenhagh, you will trained to work across all areas of the business, and duties will include:

  • MIG and TIG Welding
  • Folding/bending/cutting
  • Handlng stainless steel and aluminium
  • Grinding
  • Polishing
  • Use of hand tools
  • Powder Coating
  • Work from scale drawings
  • Operating machines, including: CNC operated press brakes and operating punch and bending machines

The apprentice will spend the first 12 months enrolled on a level 2 fabrication and welding apprenticeship, with potential opportunity to progress on to a level 3 engineering apprenticeship.

WORKING HOURS PER WEEK

39 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 7:30 to 16:30 with half an hour unpaid for lunch ( 12:30 -13:00) Friday 7:30 to 12:30

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Grade 4 or Level 2 maths
Grade 4 or Level 2 English 

These grades are required in order to progress to a level 3 apprenticeship standard.
