WELDER/FABRICATOR APPRENTICE

•  Cut and shape materials to precise dimensions and thicknesses 
•  Weld and join metal components to create and repair structures 
•  Follow detailed engineering plans, technical drawings, and instructions 
•  Operate a variety of tools, machinery, and welding equipment safely 
•  Inspect and test welds using precision measuring instruments 
•  Dismantle metal structures as required 
•  Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas 
•  Wear appropriate safety clothing and use protective equipment at all times

DUTIES

WORKING HOURS PER WEEK

40 hours per week - Monday-Friday 8-16:30

REQUIRED SKILLS

Communication skills

Good hand-eye co-odrination

REQUIRED QUALITIES

Good attention to detail and a willingness to learn 

Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team 

Commitment to health and safety practices 

Enthusiasm for engineering and fabrication

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Grade C/4 in Maths and English is preferable

This apprenticeship will support you in achieving a Level 2 Welding Fabrication qualification, combining practical on-the-job training with classroom-based learning. You’ll gain valuable experience in a real-world setting while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.
