HEALTH, SOCIAL CARE & FIT EDUCATION The Health and Social Care sector is the second largest employing sector in the Lancashire region, with 8,860 additional people required in the sector until 2028. The caring profession in particular is currently experiencing a skills shortage of 13% and the NHS alone have a wide range of live vacancies in the region. With endless opportunities and a variety of roles available, those looking to begin a career will find introductory courses, such as the Health and Social Care Level 1 Certificate provide an ideal taster to careers in the sector. Progression opportunities onto Level 2 are available upon successful completion. Those looking for CPD opportunities may wish to consider our suite of bespoke short courses, which provide invaluable upskilling opportunities in a range of pertinent topics including, dementia, mental health, dignity and safeguarding and common health conditions. We are also proud of our highly successful and extremely popular Access to Higher Education programmes, with pathways in Allied Healthcare available to start in January. Those already holding a Level 2 qualification in gym instructing will find the Level 3 Personal Trainer programme starting this February of interest. The qualification, often required as a minimum by gyms for employment, presents additional opportunities to work in a range of settings with clients on both a group and individual basis.
