15 www.preston.ac.uk AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGIES Housed in the impressive iSTEM centre, the Automotive Technologies department at Preston College provides learners with access to purpose built workshops, an array of vehicles and immediate access to highly experienced industry experts, allowing all to put newly taught theory and skills into practice on demonstration cars. Taught by highly experienced industry experts, many of whom have previously worked as Chief Mechanics in a range of industries, including the British Touring Cars Championships, you will develop the skills and knowledge needed to confidently carry out repairs to vehicles, undertaking routine maintenance, including work on engines, tyres, brakes, steering, suspensions and electrical and transmission systems. There are a range of funding options available to you, meaning courses at all levels could be free of charge, dependent upon your individual circumstances.
