50 www.preston.ac.uk SPORT The Centre of Sporting Excellence is an exclusive partnership between Preston North End Community and Education Trust (PNECET) and Preston College. The partnership provides learners aged 16 to 19 years old with high-quality, technical education programmes from levels one to three. Learners at the Centre of Sporting Excellence have access to guest speakers, who provide great learning opportunities from a range of professions including physiotherapists, nutritionists, coaches and PNE first team players. There is also the opportunity to represent both organisations at a competitive level within national sport leagues. You will be trained by UEFA B qualified coaches at Preston College and given the opportunity to compete nationally in the EFL CEFA League and the ECFA League against other professional clubs. The programme also provides pathways to semi-professional football and scholarships in the USA. PLAY STUDY The Centre of Sporting Excellence has a course for everyone, ranging from level one to three. Our tutors have acquired a wealth of knowledge and experience through various career pathways, which is shared with you to support career progression. You will gain experience in the sports industry as part of your course by having access to a range of work placement opportunities. You will have the opportunity to see how theory is applied in practice in a real workplace environment. WORK As well as having behind-the-scenes access to Preston North End’s stadium, there are also plenty of exciting enrichment opportunities and experiences available. You will have the opportunity to play in competitions and attend a football and cultural camp in Portugal, in partnership with SL Benfica.
