Contextual admissions will be applied to recruit students to the programme who do not meet the standard entry criteria. This HNC will enable you to develop a wide range of skills with four modules studied in total, each worth 30 credits. The modules studied are: Year 1: > Engineering Analysis > Electronics and Electronic Engineering Practice Year 2: > Digital Electronics and Programmable Systems > Engineering Applications PROGRESSION OPPORTUNITIES: The qualification enhances promotion prospects in supervisory, junior and middle management roles, however, many graduates are supported by their employer to progress on to higher level qualifications, including the HND Electrical and Electronic Engineering here at Preston College. To progress, an additional application needs to be made. HOWWILL I BE TAUGHT? The course is delivered via a combination of traditional lectures, tutorials, seminars, laboratory work, directed study and project work. As a student on this course you will also have access to our virtual learning environment, Canvas, for additional resources to support your studies. HOWWILL I BE ASSESSED? You will be assessed throughout your programme to support your development. These assessments will be both formative and summative in nature. Assessment methods will vary from module to module but typically include examinations, laboratory-based and research-based assignments, tutorial questions, logbooks, presentations and formal reports. Practical skills are assessed using assignment work and demonstrations.
