We usually consider an A-level in General Studies as a supplementary qualification. Applications from individuals with non-standard qualifications, relevant work or life experience, who can demonstrate the ability to cope with and benefit from degree-level studies, will also be considered. WHAT WILL I LEARN? Throughout your time on the HND you will study 120 credits at level 5, comprising of six compulsory modules: > Power Engineering > Electronic System Applications > Electronic Systems > Digital Systems > Instrumentation and Control > Data Communications HOWWILL I BE TAUGHT? You will be taught using a range of teaching and learning methods, including traditional lectures, tutorials, laboratory work, directed self-study and project work. Teaching methods will vary from module to module, best reflecting the content of the module being studied and the associated learning outcomes. HOWWILL I BE ASSESSED? A variety of assessment methods are employed throughout the HND, comprising of written, oral and practical assessments. Typical written assessment methods include examinations, laboratory-based and research-based assignments, tutorial questions, log books and formal reports. Oral assessment methods include interview and presentations, whilst practical skills are assessed using written coursework, assignments and demonstrations, within the workshops. PROGRESSION OPPORTUNITIES Upon successful completion of this HND you may choose to progress onto the BEng (Hons) at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).
