Preston College Higher Education Prospectus

DISCLAIMER Preston College endeavours to deliver programmes of study in accordance with the description set out in this prospectus. The prospectus is produced at the earliest possible date (November 2021) and whilst every effort has been made to ensure that the information contained within it is accurate, it is possible that some changes may occur between the date of printing and the start of the academic year to which it relates. Sometimes circumstances beyond the control of Preston College mean that it is not possible to provide such educational services. Examples of such circumstances include but are not limited to: > minimum numbers required to run the course are not met, meaning it is not possible to deliver an appropriate quality of education for students enrolled on it > the unanticipated departure or absence of key members of teaching staff > industrial action by staff or third parties > power failure > damage to buildings or equipment > the acts of any governmental or local authority > acts of terrorism > public health emergencies In these circumstances, Preston College will take all reasonable steps to minimise the resultant disruption to those services and to affected students, by, for example, offering affected students the chance to move to another course or institution, or by delivering a modified version of the same course, but to the full extent that is possible under the general law Preston College excludes liability for any loss and/or damage suffered by any applicant or student as a result of those circumstances. Preston College will use all reasonable endeavours to deliver the course in accordance with the description applied to it in this prospectus for the academic year in which you begin the course. However, we reserve the right to amend, remove and add courses in the future and although reasonable steps are taken to provide the programmes and services described, Preston College cannot guarantee the provision of any course or facility and may make variations to the contents or methods of delivery of programmes, discontinue, merge or combine courses and introduce new higher education courses, if such action is reasonably considered to be necessary. If any course is discontinued, Preston College will use all reasonable endeavours to provide a suitable alternative or support applicants with finding alternative provision elsewhere. All courses will only run if minimum numbers are met. The College’s Student Protection Plan sets out what students can expect to happen should a course, campus, or institution close. The purpose of a plan is to ensure that students can continue and complete their studies, or can be compensated if this is not possible. Our Student Protection Plan provides an assessment of the risks to the continuation of your studies at Preston. We have also outlined the protections we have in place for you as a Preston College Higher Education student in the event that a risk to the continuation of your studies arises. As Preston College works with a range of partner institutions, advertised modules may vary or change from those advertised in this guide. When making any changes, Preston College will aim to keep the changes to the minimum necessary to achieve the required quality of experience and will notify and consult with affected students in advance about any changes that are required. If your chosen course changes and you are not satisfied with the changes, you will be offered the opportunity to withdraw from the course, move to another course and, if required, offered reasonable support to transfer to another provider.
