This course is designed to allow you to develop the knowledge and skills required to progress onto further study in a Higher Education setting. The programme will allow you to study and develop an underpinning knowledge and understanding of core principles in business, law and economics, prior to undertaking a degree programme.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
You will study the following modules as part of this one year programme:
Introduction to business
Principles of business strategy
Investigating entrepreneurship in micro-business
Introduction to economics
Principles of macroeconomics
Introduction to law making
The English Legal System
The criminal justice system and police power and company law
HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?
All classes will be taught in a classroom setting, which will involve the learning of theory and participation in projects. All tutors are specialist in their subject areas, having worked in the industry prior to teaching and will pass their experiences and knowledge on to you.

There are a mixture of assessments methods employed during the course, including:

WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?
Upon successful completion, you may choose to progress onto a degree at university in one of the many topics areas studied on the programme. You will need to check entry criteria for your chosen programme prior to applying for the Access to Higher Education: Business course.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?
You may need to purchase your own copies of core reading texts at an additional cost.
You will need to evidence that you hold five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including Maths and English Language. Functional skills may be considered.
You will also be required to complete a written piece and undertaken an interview with teaching staff, prior to enrolling.
