The HND Project and Quality Management has been designed in conjunction with key employers, to provide the skills and knowledge needed in relevant roles.

Designed for those wishing to progress an already established career, the programme combines a mixture of practical and theoretical sessions, developing key skills such as project management, teamwork, communication, research and technical ability.

Developing an understanding of key applications in the engineering industry, you will confidently exhibit creativity, problem solving and research skills through project work. Ideally suited for those looking to move into a management position, or lead on projects and quality management, successful completion of the HND affords the opportunity to progress onto a relevant degree in management.

HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?

A wide variety of learning and teaching methods are used within the HND, including lectures, tutorials, practical workshops, peer group critiques, directed independent study and presentations. You will also have access to our virtual learning environment for additional resources, to support your studies.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

The course adopts both written and practical based assessments including essays and reports, alongside participation in class exercises, practical tasks and presentations. Some modules are assessed through an open book exam.

Each assessment component may carry one or more learning outcomes, all of which aim to test the diverse skills that a professional Project Manager requires.

WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?

The HND Project and Quality Management has been developed in partnership with employers, ensuring all graduates develop the skills needed for higher level employment.

Upon successful completion of the course, you may choose to progress onto business management based courses at university. The HND also supports progression within the workplace by embedding employability skills throughout course delivery. To progress onto higher level study, an additional application needs to be made.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Preston’s College operates a flexible admissions policy, welcoming applicants with a wide range of qualifications and/or experience, with each application assessed on its own merits. We also recognise prior learning/attainment (RPL) and experience, meaning it may be possible to map some of your existing qualifications against the modules for the HND Project and Quality Management qualification.

If this applies to you, we will discuss this with you at interview stage. For learners who have recently been in education, we would expect an applicant to have one of the following:

Level 4 qualification A Level 4 qualification in a relevant subject, such as a HNC Project and Quality Managment, studied at Preston's College
International Baccalaureate H5 - 32 UCAS points
Other qualification or requirements A higher level NVQ diploma or equivalent competence based qualification. 
Applicants with industrial experience will be considered on a case by case basis
PLUS  
GCSE GCSE Maths grade B/grade 5 and English at grade C/4. Level 2 English and Maths will be considered if supported by industry experience. A Science related subject is also required, at grade C/grade 4
Other qualifications IELTS 6.0 (5.5 in each skills area)

International students

You may need to apply for a Tier 4 visa in order to enter and study in the UK. However, please note that Preston’s College does not hold a Tier 4 Sponsor Licence to support student visa applications.
