The Event sector is one of the fastest growing industries in the world. With event jobs ranging from party planners and wedding coordinators to global events such as music festivals and major sporting events every day can be exciting and different. In this industry you will get to meet new people every day and you could even travel the world!

HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?

A range of different methods will be used to deliver this course including lectures, guest speakers, off site visits, project based learning and group workshops. Some modules may be delivered online remotely.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

A variety of assessments methods will be used to help you develop your skills and confidence. Group assessments and individual tasks could be presentations, meetings, reports, posters and online activities.

WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?

On successful completion of Level 2 you may seek employment or progress to the Level 3 course in Event Management provided you have a grade 4 in English Language or Maths with a minimum of grade 3 in the other subject. Level 3 is the equivalent of three A-Levels and is worth up to 168 UCAS points depending on your grades, this means you can progress to university level study. Alternatively you may seek employment in the industry.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?

Smart wear will be required when completing presented assessments. During organised events you are managing, you will be required to take part in all activities. Extensive work experience is part of the programme, you will be supported by the Careers team.

Event Management Level 2 is only available when studied alongside Travel & Tourism - Level 2. 

Event Management Level 3 is only available when studied alongside Travel & Tourism - Level 3.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

For Level 2 you need four GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above including English Language and Maths. For Level 3 you need five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 9-4 (A*-C) or above including English Language and Maths with a minimum of grade 3 for the other subject. For both levels you will also need to attend an interview.
