If you wish to start a career in construction and have little to know experience, this Level 1 Certificate in Plastering qualification has been developed for delivery in our training environments; this means that you will not be required to be employed to study this course. This qualification has been designed to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding to enable you to work in plastering within the construction industry or progress to further training.

What will I learn?

You will learn key practical skills and knowledge through mandatory core units including:

  • Health & Safety in Construction Trades
  • Working & Communicating Effectively in Construction Trades
  • Plastering Walls
  • Plastering Corners

You will also have the option to study the following optional units:

  • Using Plaster Material to Produce Moulds
  • Plastering a Ceiling

How will I be taught?

This course is based on the development of practical skills and competencies to prepare for study at Level 2. Our industry experienced tutors provide practical demonstrations and one-to-one support throughout the course.

How will I be assessed?

Your assessment will consist of completion of the appropriate awarding body documentation and qualification hand book for the Level 1 Certificate in Plastering 600/8808/4.

What can I do next?

This Level 1 qualification will give you an introduction to Plastering, this means that you will learn the hands-on skills and knowledge required for you to progress onto our Level 2 Plastering course. You can also progress to industry employment or obtain further training on completion of the course.

Is there anything else I need to know?

With experience, you could progress to supervisory positions or move into related roles such as tiling, estimating and site management. This would also include opportunities to become self-employed and work as a sub-contractor.

This course runs as a part time evening class 3.5 hours per week.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however you will be required to demonstrate your enthusiasm to work in the industry.
