The College has a legal and moral duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of its learners and to provide a safe and secure environment in which they can study and achieve their potential. This includes our obligation under the Prevent Duty (Sept 2015) to have due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism. We have a Safeguarding and Prevent Policy, together with a supplementary set of procedures, which outline how we will fulfil this duty. A copy of the current policy and procedures are available from Student Services (EA004) and by clicking HERE.
The College has a Safeguarding Team whose role is to deal appropriately with any allegations of abuse against a young person, or vulnerable adult, and also to work with external agencies to promote the welfare of any individual learner in need of additional support.
If students feel worried about themselves or others, they can talk to their Student Manager, Safeguarding Officer or the Designated Safeguarding Lead, Tina Southworth. Tina is based in Student Services and her contact details are as follows: 01772 225658 | 07919 628570 | email@example.com. You can also click on the Safeguarding Alert button on the Student Home Page on the College Intranet which will send a confidential message to Tina.
