As a Pharmacy dispensing assistant working in a busy local pharmacy, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer focused service, counter assistance, appropriate health counselling, labelling, dispensing, medications, receiving and maintaining stock etc. As a Dispensing Assistant   you take great pride in delivering a first class dispensing service. You assist in the delivery of a first class pharmaceutical service in line with GPhC guidelines. You are familiar with the principles of pharmacy regulation and the key areas that need to be considered, Whilst this is not your core role You will respond appropriately to patient requests for advice on self-care and the use of their medicines. You will ask questions appropriately using the 2WHAM algorithm before selecting a suitable product referring to the pharmacist or signposting to another professional as appropriate. You will support patients in the safe and appropriate storage of medicines, identifying problems in the taking of their medicines such as interactions, or other factors that might affect their compliance. You will ensure that your product knowledge is up to date and that you ensure the company SOP’s are followed at all times. Where you are unclear of any aspect of your work you will seek appropriate support or training from your supervisor. You assist in the dispensing of blistered medication, care homes, acute and repeat prescriptions within your competency always working to the agreed company SOP’s and in agreement with the pharmacist on duty. You support the senior technician and pharmacists on duty in delivering the dispensing service, support for self-care, health promotion and additional locally and nationally commissioned services.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
