You will learn and obtain experience in the fundamentals of mechanical and electrical engineering, primarily through training at College and through onsite work. You will continue to study part-time. 

Throughout the duration of the apprenticeship you will be taught, and will put into practice, engineering skills which will be key for a Maintenance engineering role within Thyssenkrupp.

You may also experience business functions outside of Engineering, such as HR, Customer Service, Sales and outside contractors in order to gain a full understanding of their business. 

Support from peers, and one to ones with your manager will be in place. You will also be able to access, and utilise, our comprehensive Associate training and materials. This will support you to regularly reviewing your strengths, building on them, identifying areas for development, and for two-way feedback.

 

 

DUTIES

Key Duties will include:

  • Assisting with the creation of maintenance procedures
  • Assisting with the repair of equipment
  • Supporting the planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance
  • Help to analyse breakdown issues
  • Help fit new parts and make sure equipment is working correctly
  • Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment
  • Attend college as necessary and complete all modules on time and to the best of your ability
  • To work within relevant departments within the Company as directed to develop understanding of key processes and procedures.
  • To assist the Facilities department with the day-to-day duties of the site.
  • Occasionally, working off-site with Maintenance / Facilities staff, helping with installation, commissioning, testing and servicing of equipment and systems.
  • Providing support for Engineers / Operators and other departments at the request of the management.
  • Understand and adhere to all company legislative and health & safety policies and procedures
  • Undertaking other duties and ad hoc projects as required by the business.

WORKING HOURS PER WEEK

Minimum 30 hours per week
