You will be making regular checks and maintenance work, such as oiling and cleaning. You will help replace parts on a planned basis after a certain number of hours. In addition you will check and learn how to calibrate equipment to make sure it is accurate.
In your daily work in this occupation, you will typically interact with line managers/supervisors; depending on the size of the employer and nature of the work they may work as part of a team of fitters or independently. You will interact with personnel in other functions for example installation and maintenance engineers, health & safety and quality assurance personnel, as well as internal or external customers.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Be able to work on own and also in a team environment, good communication skills and the ability to accept instructions and offer ideas.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
4 GCSE’s at grades A*-D (9-4), including maths and english (or equivalent).
Level 2 upwards in an engineering qualification.
