Preston College Adult Course Guide 2023/2024

I am delighted that you are considering joining us at Preston College. Whether you are looking to learn a new skill, re-skill, or are keen to advance an already established career role with additional professional qualifications, our variety of daytime, evening and part-time study options offer the flexibility to fit around current home and work commitments. It is never too late to learn, and the current cost of living crisis only serves to reinforce the importance of developing or improving skills. On the campus, you will find a host of purpose built facilities including our recently extended Construction Skills Centre accommodating our new architecture suite, functional science laboratories and hair, barbering and beauty facilities that offer real work environments. On top of all this, our sector specialist staff will ensure you have an excellent experience. Our curriculum is both diverse and progressive, as we continually innovate to not only meet customer demand, but to provide qualifications that allow our learners to succeed in their industry of choice. We are proud to be supporting the ‘Constructing Low Carbon Lancashire’ initiative, playing an integral role in increasing the skillset of construction related businesses and employees across Lancashire, helping to ensure that they can benefit from the move to low carbon technologies and production methods. Our increased short courses offer provides valuable CPD opportunities for those working across an array of sectors. In addition, our breadth of essential skills courses in ICT, maths and English allow us to offer Functional Skills, GCSE and a range of ICT qualifications, which support skills development and meet employer needs. We have built a fantastic reputation for developing confident, skilled adults across a range of sectors, allowing you to enter, progress and excel in your chosen career. Our recent Ofsted inspection, confirming us as a “Good” college making a strong contribution to local skills needs, provides further evidence of the quality of our provision. Enrolling now for courses starting in 2023, we look forward to welcoming you to Preston College. Simon Nixon Principal & Chief Executive
