42 www.preston.ac.uk After completing her BSc (Hons) Bio Chemistry at Lancaster University, Sharon began employment as a Lab Technician at the University of Liverpool. Progressing to a PhD Research Associate, having undertaken additional MSc and PhD study, Sharon’s love for teaching led her to a PGCE at Edge Hill University. Successfully completing the course, Sharon worked as a Science teacher in schools for over 16 years before making the move to Further Education in 2018. Now teaching at Preston College, from GCSE to Access to Higher Education Science, Sharon loves teaching adults, commenting: “Adult learners have a real passion for the subject, plus extra motivation to want to learn as much as possible. Adults can see a clear career path, often knowing where they want to go and their passion for science is the same as my passion for science.” SHARON SCIENCE TUTOR
