HNC CONSTRUCTION AND THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT (BUILDING SERVICES ENGINEERING) Awarded by Pearson THIS HNC: The HNC Construction and The Built Environment (Building Services Engineering) course aims to develop learners as professional, self-reflecting individuals able to meet the demands of employers in the construction sector. Ideal for those wanting to continue their education through applied learning, the course develops learner knowledge, understanding and skills, whilst providing an experience of the breadth and depth of the sector that will prepare all for further study or training. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Preston College operates a flexible admissions policy, welcoming applicants with a wide range of qualifications and/or experience, with each application assessed on its own merit. We also recognise prior learning/attainment (RPL) and experience, meaning it may be possible to map some of your existing qualifications against the modules for the HNC Building Services qualification. If this applies to you, we will discuss this with you at the interview stage. For students who have recently been in education, we would expect an applicant to have one of the following: A-Levels: Two A-Level subjects or equivalent (grade B and grade C minimum) BTEC Extended Diploma: Pass or Merit (grade MMP) BTEC Diploma: BTEC National Diploma/Certificate (grade DM) Pass Access Course: In a relevant occupational area (at Level 3) International Baccalaureate: H7 PLUS GCSE: English and Maths GCSE grade 4 (formerly grade C) or equivalent Other qualification/ requirements: 3-4 years of site/industrial experience is desirable IELTS 6.0 (5.5 in each skills area) 20
