We usually consider an A-Level in General Studies as a supplementary qualification. Contextual admissions will be applied to recruit students to the programme who do not meet the standard entry criteria. This will be subject to interview with a course tutor to discuss individual circumstances. WHAT WILL I LEARN? This HNC will enable you to develop a wide range of skills with four modules studied in total, each worth 30 credits. The modules studied are: Year 1: > Engineering Analysis > Engineering Design Year 2: > Engineering Science > Electronics and Electronic Engineering Practice PROGRESSION OPPORTUNITIES: The qualification enhances promotion prospects in supervisory, junior and middle management roles, however, many graduates are supported by their employer to progress on to higher level qualifications, including the HND Mechatronics Engineering here at Preston College. To progress, an additional application needs to be made. HOWWILL I BE TAUGHT? The course is delivered via a combination of traditional lectures, tutorials, practical sessions and project work. As a student on this course you will also have access to our virtual learning environment, Canvas, for additional resources to support your studies. HOWWILL I BE ASSESSED? Assessment methods on this course vary from module to module but typically incorporate examinations, quizzes, assignment, presentation, poster and written reports.
