T-MINUS 18MONTHS Following Preston’s College successful bid to deliver T-Levels, the countdown to September 2021 is now on. T-Levels are a new Government initiative to support students into the world of work and offer theman unparalleled experience in their chosen industry. The first three subjects launching T-levels at Preston’s College will be in Construction, Science and Health. WHAT IS A T-LEVEL? They are a brand new, two-year qualification that will give learners a head start towards their future aspirations in their chosen industry. The Government has developed T-Levels with large and small businesses to deliver a world class technical education programme whilst giving students a new choice after GCSE’s. They are designed to help students learn what a real career is like whilst they continue their studies. HOWWILL IT AFFECT ME ANDWHAT ARE THE BENEFITS TOMY BUSINESS? The idea behind T-Levels is that they will allow employers to support the development of a student into their industry. The communication between employers and the Government has been that students are not ‘work-ready’ once they have finished their college studies. This new initiative is designed to improve their skills, knowledge and work-readiness. They are designed differently to an apprenticeship and the outcome would be that at the end of their course a learner would be ready for the world of work.
