Simon Nixon, Preston College Principal and Chief Executive said: “Ofsted has recognised the strength and quality of the provision that we deliver, particularly in ensuring that our learners not only achieve the qualifications that they undertake, but that they effectively progress into higher level study, apprenticeships or employment when they complete their college programme.” OFSTED: PRESTON COLLEGE AWARDED GOOD IN ALL AREAS PRESTON COLLEGE WINS BEACON AWARD FOR COLLEGE ENGAGEMENT WITH EMPLOYERS The Association of Colleges’ Beacon Awards celebrate the best and most innovative practice among UK colleges each year. The award seeks to recognise examples of practical teaching and learning that equips people with the skills that today’s global and digital economy demands, through a broad and balanced curriculum, high quality training, engaging real world learning and rich relationships between education and employers. Simon Nixon, Principal and Chief Executive says: “We are absolutely thrilled to win this prestigious award. To be recognised for the work, dedication and commitment that our college team continues to demonstrate for the good of our community, our learners, and our partner employers, is extremely rewarding.” VICTORIOUS 4-AWARD WIN AT NODA AWARDS In February, our Visual Performing Art staff and learners attended the National Operatic and Dramatic Association North West Region 2 Awards Dinner at the Imperial Hotel Blackpool and won not one but four awards for: Best Staging of a Youth Musical, Best Youth Ensemble, Best Choreographer of a Youth Production and Best Concert / Review overall. Jane Tudor, Head of School for Visual Performing Arts and Digital says: “To be recognised enough to be shortlisted is a huge achievement, but to win four of the awards is incredible. Things like this don’t just happen by chance, but by the amount of work that goes into each performance, rehearsal and show. I am extremely proud of everyone involved.”
