We usually consider an A-level in General Studies as a supplementary qualification. Applications from individuals with non-standard qualifications, relevant work or life experience, who can demonstrate the ability to cope with and benefit from degree-level studies, will also be considered. WHAT WILL I LEARN? Throughout your time on the HND you will study 120 credits at level 5, comprising of five compulsory modules: > Design and Manufacture > Thermo-fluids > Mechanics, Kinematics and Materials > Operations Management A > Computer Aided Design and Simulation HOWWILL I BE TAUGHT? You will be taught using a range of teaching and learning methods, including traditional lectures, tutorials and group work. You can also expect to undertake elements of directed study and practical workshop sessions. Teaching methods will vary from module to module, best reflecting the content of the module being studied. HOWWILL I BE ASSESSED? A variety of assessment methods are employed throughout the HND, including formal examinations, phase tests, assignments and coursework. Assessment methods, as with teaching and learning techniques, will vary from module to module. PROGRESSION OPPORTUNITIES Upon successful completion of this HND you may choose to progress onto the BEng (Hons) at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).
