Preston College Adult Course Guide 2023/2024

22 www.preston.ac.uk Terry worked in the plastering trade for 36 years, successfully owning his own business for most of that time. Following an accident, Terry planned to progress his career into the Health and Safety field, so initially came to Preston College to join a relevant course. After a discussion with a careers advisor however, Terry decided to share his knowledge and skills with the next generation of plasterers instead, enrolling on the Certificate in Education – a qualification which would allow him to practise as a professional tutor. Successfully completing the course, Terry now teaches all levels of plastering to learners here at Preston College, transferring his 36 years of industry knowledge and experience to those he teaches.
