ART & DESIGN - LEVEL 2

This Level 2 course in Art and Design is awarded by the University of Arts London, a top six world ranking university for art and design.

Our one-year Art & Design Level 2 course is the perfect introduction for anyone wishing to venture into the creative and digital industries. Our varied curriculum will allow you to research, experiment and develop ideas in a lively and diverse creative environment. You will explore the work of existing artists and designers as starting points before responding with your own outcomes. Through the creative process you will learn to incorporate your own interests and personality into your work, making for individualised outcomes that set you apart from your peers.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

We endeavour to build your skills, knowledge and confidence in some of the key areas of art and design, giving you a varied, challenging and all-encompassing experience:

Observational drawing and painting
Textiles and surface pattern design
2D and 3D exploration
Collage and multimedia
Contextual studies
Digital art and animation
Mono, lino and screen printing

HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?

The majority of this course will be taught in practical workshops where you will build an art and design portfolio to showcase your skills and aid your progression into a higher level course of study or into employment.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

There are no exams! The course is taught through workshops and project work, with each project aimed at highlighting a different type of skill and creative response for a particular audience, modelled on real-world industry practice. In the final term, you will have the opportunity to respond to an external brief, allowing you the creative space to specialise in your preferred area and test your new found skills and techniques.
