Our Board of Governors

The Board of Governors is an independent body made up of the Principal and Chief Executive, independent governors, staff governors and student governors.

The Corporation was established under the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 for the purpose of conducting Preston College. The College is an exempt charity for the purposes of Part 3 of the Charities Act 2011 and is regulated by the Secretary of State for Education.

The Chair of the Corporation Board is Mr John Boydell, contactable via email at jboydell@preston.ac.uk

The main responsibilities of the board are to: determine the educational character of the college; monitor its performance; ensure its overall well-being and financial solvency and listen to the learner voice. We will have vacancies for governors in the 2024/25 academic year and will start recruiting during the 2023/24 academic year.
