Science courses at Preston College are housed in the impressive i-STEM Centre; a multi-million-pound, purpose-built facility offering a dynamic learning environment. The building incorporates multi- functional science laboratories and bespoke classrooms, designed to help you formulate ideas, test briefs, present findings and develop your practical skills.
Science plays a crucial role in shaping society, with career opportunities extending well beyond lab-based roles. With over 20% of the UK’s workforce currently employed in Science positions and with significantly more graduates and postgraduates in the core and related science workforce than other sectors, the average salary for scientists is also generally much higher than the wider national average wage.
For those looking to begin a career in science, GCSE Science provides the base level qualification often expected from employers, whilst opening opportunities for further study. Those looking to study at degree level but not currently holding the required Level 3 qualification needed for entry, will be keen to explore the Access to Higher Education programme.
