As an apprentice you will be expected to work to a high standard whilst also gaining relevant industry experience. The apprentice's main duties will include:
Mixing paints and fillers
Sanding and preparation
Cutting and hanging paper
Keeping the work area clean and tidy
As well as the above duties, the apprentice must show a willingness to learn other aspects of Painting & Decorating and shadow their mentor where possible, in order to gain the necessary skills to become a competent decorator.
The jobs will be a mixture of domestic and commercial work. Therefore, a professional, friendly, welcoming attitude is required as they will be interacting with valued customers and often working along other trades. The days can be long and the work can be difficult, therefore a hardworking, can do attitude is a must.
