Football Academy
Want to combine a passion for the beautiful game with a successful career? Preston College football academy, run in partnership with Preston North End Community and Education Trust (PNECET), will be holding trials for year 11 footballers to join the dynamic programme that combines skills on the pitch with professional qualifications.

Our Football Academy is delivered in partnership with Preston North End Community and Education Trust and is open to talented footballers who have a desire to take their football to the next level, alongside their academic studies.
The programme combines excellent academic achievement and skills development for player progression, designed to prepare you for the wide range of careers in sports.
You will be trained by UEFA B qualified coaches at Preston College and given the opportunity to compete nationally in the EFL CEFA League and the ECFA League.
Alongside regular, competitive football, you will study a Level 2 Diploma in Skills for Sport & Active Leisure, or a Level 3 Diploma & Extended Diploma in Sport.
Learners with these qualifications have gone onto roles in playing, coaching and refereeing and some have progressed onto a Degree or teaching qualifications.
As part of our enrichment programme, we travel to America to take part in the renowned President’s Day Tournament in Phoenix. Some of our learners have earned football scholarships in the USA.
Academy Outline
- Study either a Level 2 Diploma in Skills for Sport & Active Leisure or a Level 3 Diploma & Extended Diploma in Sport
- Gain a range of sports coaching and leadership qualifications including the opportunity to achieve a FA Level One Coaching Award
- Receive support from specialist tutors in sports therapy, sports psychology and fitness training
- Access to state-of-the-art facilities including our 3G artificial pitch, large sports hall, Cybex fitness suite and sports science lab
- Play fixtures in EFL CEFA League and the ECFA League.
- Represent Preston College and PNECET in an international tournament.
