What is a Study Programme?

As a technical specialist, Preston College use our strong links with employers and local industries, to provide our learners with the very best start to their careers, offering a wide range of work experience and work placement opportunities, alongside other key experiences.

As a learner at Preston College, you will follow a full-time study programme. This means that you will study your subject of choice but may also, as part of your timetable, have the opportunity to access a wide range of additional opportunities. All of these activities make up your study programme. Examples include:

  • Progress and attainment workshops
  • Pastoral support
  • Work related experience
  • Course specific competitions
  • Work placements

If you have not achieved grade 4 or above in your English and maths GCSEs at school, you will also be required to study those, alongside your chosen course. This is a compulsory requirement and will automatically form part of your timetable.
