Preston’s College has maintained its place in the top ten of General Further Education providers nationally for 16-18 classroom based learning.
Based on achievement rates across all levels, the College is joint ninth (9/180) in the country, maintaining the same position held in last year’s tables.
The overall College achievement rate improved from 88.6% in 16/17 to 89.1% in 17/18, sitting 6.3% above the National Average Achievement Rate (NAAR).
Talking about the achievement, Lis Smith, Principal & Chief Executive at Preston’s College, said: “Over the last two years Preston’s College has been working hard to make significant progress in our teaching, learning and technical curriculum offer. This is best demonstrated through our successful Ofsted outcome and healthy progress in the Government’s annual Quality Achievement Rate (QAR) tables.
“To once again maintain our position in the top ten General Further Education colleges nationally across our course provision is an outstanding achievement.
“The result is testament to our entire team in providing education and training that’s amongst the best in the country, together with recognising the hard work of our learners.
“Our mission is to make our learners the most employable they can be, ensuring that Lancashire’s local economy has a pipeline of candidates with the skills, knowledge and experience to succeed in industry.”
For adult classroom based learning, the College is ranked an impressive 27th (27/179). The achievement rate for Adults across all levels is 2.7% above the NAAR of 89.1%.
