Just a quick message to wish all of our learners and their families a very Merry Christmas and to thank you for your enthusiasm and hard work throughout this first term of the academic year. Across the college, we have already achieved so much, but as we start planning for the New Year, it is worth us recognising that we still have much work to do in ensuring that everyone achieves their qualifications.
College will re-open to learners on Wednesday 4 January 2023. Unless informed otherwise, timetables will remain the same as in the first term. Staff are planning a range of important activities during those first days, whilst from Monday 9 January, we will be offering a range of activities to reinforce the importance of Health and Wellbeing in learning and in everyday life, recognising that this is such a topical issue in society.
It is really important that we all take the time to rest, recuperate and enjoy ourselves over the festive period. The two week break will give us all time to reflect on the year that we have just had, whilst starting to think about the things that we want to achieve in the New Year. One key area of focus for the college in 2023 will be learner attendance – the more that everybody attends, the better chance they have of achieving their qualifications. The New Year will be a great chance to make some resolutions about improving attendance, and the College will ensure that we recognise the efforts of our learners in this.
I hope you have a very restful and happy festive period, and very much look forward to welcoming you back in the New Year.
Simon Nixon
Interim Principal and Chief Executive
