INTRODUCTION TO SPANISH LANGUAGE

Duration: 23 weeks

Are you looking to advance your career prospects by learning a new language? Our Introduction to Spanish Language course is designed to help you gain valuable language skills that can boost your employability prospects and open doors to new career opportunities.

Whether you're starting with no prior experience or seeking to build a solid foundation in the Spanish language, this course provides a supportive and engaging environment for your learning. You will gain insights into Spanish-speaking cultures, and enhance your ability to work effectively in a diverse range of job roles.   

You will also learn how to develop essential conversational skills and everyday vocabularly to confidently communicate effectively with French-speaking colleagues, clients and partners. 

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

  • How to say hello, goodbye and understand and make simple greetings
  • How to order food and drink in bars and restaurants
  • Be prepared for emergency situations including visiting the doctor or chemist
  • Be able to ask and understand simple directions
  • Be able to tell the time
  • Make a hotel reservation and make a complaint

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

There are no exams during this course, however you will be encouraged to keep a portfolio containing handouts, photographs and examples your work to demonstrate your progress.

WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?

On completion of this course, you may wish to continue your studies with our Intermediate Spanish Language programme, or on one of our other language courses available at Preston College. The tutor will discuss your options with you at the end of your course.
