EDUCATION & TRAINING - LEVEL 3 AWARD

The Level 3 Education and Training Award provides a comprehensive introduction to teaching and training, exploring key roles and responsibilities within the field. Combining practical delivery techniques with engaging activities, it also provides a strong foundation in educational theory and sector-specific research.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

As part of the programme, you can expect to study a range of topics, including:

  • Planning and delivery of inclusive sessions, including engaging and motivating learners
  • Respecting boundaries within a learning environment
  • Assessment methods
  • Importance of accurate record keeping

HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?

This course is delivered in-person at Preston College.

To join this course, no prior knowledge of education is required – just a willingness to learn.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

The delivery of an observed micro-teaching session is a requirement of this qualification, which sees you deliver a short lesson to your peers in your class.

In addition to delivering the micro-teaching session, you will be assessed by a variety of other methods such as written assignments, worksheets, and self-reflection.

WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?

This qualification can be an excellent stepping stone towards confident, effective training, and can also lead to further qualifications such as the CertEd and PGCE. 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants should possess sufficient English skills, typically demonstrated by a GCSE grade C (or equivalent), along with proficient digital skills.

If you do not hold these qualifications, you may be required to complete a diagnostic assessment to confirm your suitability for the course.
