This course will provide you with the fundamentals of Electrical Installation to Level 2 standard. Equipping you with skills and knowledge needed to progress your career in industry, the fundamentals of health and safety are explored, alongside a range of mandatory modules, which incorporate installation of wiring systems, communication, principles of electrical science and wiring systems and enclosures.
Successful completion will allow you to progress your career in industry, or undertake further Level 3 study. Please note that successful completion of this qualification does not make you a fully qualified electrician.
Please note: This course starts in September 2025. You may apply now; however, applications will not be processed until enrolments open in April 2025. A course advisor will reach out once we can proceed with your application.

You will be taught in the newly renovated Construction Skills Centre, in purpose built workshops, where you will learn a variety of new techniques, skills and knowledge.
Assessment methods vary for module to module but may include practical assignments, on-line multiple choice tests and practical assessments.

As our on-site facilities reflect industry working practices, you will be required to purchase and wear suitable PPE, including work boots and overalls or clothes that you do not mind getting dirty – construction can be messy!
To undertake this course you must already hold a Level 1 Maths qualification and a Level 1 English qualification. If you do not have an English qualification, you will be required to undertake an assessment. If you do not have a Maths qualification, you will need to be able to study additional maths classes between 5pm and 6pm on the evening of the course.
