T LEVEL IN PROFESSIONAL CONSTRUCTION (CIVIL ENGINEERING)

T Levels are combine technical learning, practical work and a minimum 45 days (315 hours) industry placement with a local employer to ensure you have relevant and real experience in the workplace. This qualification has been developed with employers within the construction industry to ensure you learn the skills, behaviours and knowledge that employers are looking for.
The Construction and built environment sector contributes billions to the UK economy, it employs an estimated 3million people and offers a wide range of careers and opportunities. The T Level in Professional Construction has two pathways available – Civil Engineering and Design, Surveying and Planning.

HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?
80% of your studies will be within the College, this will be either in a classroom where you will build theoretical knowledge, or in one of our specialist facilities where you can develop your practical skills.
20% of the qualification will involve a 45 day (315 hours) industry placement with a local employer. During this time you will gain real work experience within the construction industry, placing you in a great position to progress into employment once you complete your T Level qualification.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
You will complete formal assessments and examinations.
WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?
Gaining a T Level can help you with progression onto higher study, Apprenticeships or into skilled employment. Your T Level is worth up to 168 UCAS points and will be recognised by universities and other providers, meaning you have the option to continue your studies after college.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?
Students have access to the architecture suite and design software for working on architectural drawings and plans, and have opportunities to complete their industry placements with employers like the Eric Wright Group, Persimmon Homes and Carefoot.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Students require at least two grade 5s and three grade 4s or above at GCSE, including a grade 5 in science and at least a grade 4 in maths and English. A successful interview is also required.
