This qualification is ideal for those looking to enter assessing roles. Providing opportunities to develop and improve assessment practice, whilst gaining a professional qualification, the course is suitable for anyone working in accredited learning, non-accredited learning and the NQF.

Learners can study up to three units at Level 3. The first unit is compulsory, the other two are optional, based upon individual needs and career ambitions.

Successful completion of the course will provide all learners with a strong understanding of the principles of assessment, alongside the knowledge needed to develop and improve systems in their workplace. 

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

Three units are offered at Level 3. Unit 301 is compulsory, whilst units 302 and 303 are optional.

Units are priced at £250 per unit and include:

Unit 301 - theory/ content = assignment based unit

Unit 302 - practical assessment on assessing a candidate in the workplace with portfolio of evidence

Unit 303 - practical assessment on assessing learners in other contexts (e.g. classrooms) with portfolio of evidence

 It is advantageous to hold all three to support all types of teaching, learning and assessment.

HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?

Learners on this course will be taught through a suite of blended learning; a mixture of on-site and remote teaching methods.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

Assessment methods vary by unit by typically include observations, examinations of produced work, oral questioning and discussion, learner statements, 3rd party testimonials, assignments and the submission of a portfolio of evidence.

HOW MUCH WILL THIS COURSE COST?

Each unit costs £250 per unit.

WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?

Upon completion of this qualification you will have gained knowledge and understanding in principles of assessment, alongside new ideas, techniques and the confidence needed to develop and improve systems in the workplace.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Candidates who undertake this programme must be able to access their own learners to assess as part of the practical elements of the course. Learners for assessment purposes are not provided by the College.
