The Entry Level 3 Award in Skills for Employment is a short, practical qualification designed to help you develop the essential skills needed to move into work, further education or volunteering. It is ideal if you are currently unemployed and looking to build your confidence and employability, or if you are already in work and want to strengthen your skills to progress in your career.
Delivered in a supportive learning environment, the course focuses on the skills employers value, helping you move forward at a pace that works for you.

How to apply for a job
Communication for the workplace
Looking at different job opportunities
Speaking and presenting with confidence
HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?
You will learn through classroom-based sessions, supported by tasks and activities set outside of sessions to support and develop your understanding.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
You will be assessed through a portfolio of evidence, which may include observation records, audio recordings, completed workbooks, photographs, and other relevant materials.

WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?
Upon successful completion of this qualification, you will have obtained the skills, knowledge and understanding to progress on to a higher level qualification, or into employment.
Many learners choose to progress onto the Level 1 course at Preston College.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?
This introductory course opens the door to further progression, guiding you towards Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
To get the most out of this course, you’ll need to meet the following language requirements:
Your English level must be a minimum of B1 / Entry 3 in all four skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening
Your English skills will be assessed before you are accepted onto the programme to ensure this course is the right fit for you.
These requirements are in place to help you succeed—strong language skills will give you the confidence and ability to move forward in employment.
