This course has been designed to allow you to develop a range of technical and transferable skills that are fundamental to both university level study and employment opportunities. You will build upon your current scientific knowledge in biology, chemistry and physics and develop laboratory skills that employers and universities are looking for.
The majority of your lessons will be in laboratories where you’ll be carrying out practical experiments, writing up scientific reports or preparing posters and presentations for your assignments. Some theory lessons are classroom based or in IT rooms.

WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?
This qualification is designed to support individuals into careers within the science industry. If you would like to progress to university degree programmes this qualification combined with the Level 3 in Criminology is worth up to 168 UCAS points (depending on your grades). You could progress to degree courses in a range of science areas such as environmental, biomedical, animal and applied science.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?
You’ll need to buy a laboratory coat for practical work and equipment such as a folder, pens, pencils and a scientific calculator.
This course can only be studied as part of a combined studies package. It will run subject to sufficient student numbers and availability of government funding.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
